The AT has since become a dream to many others, and hundres of would-be Thru-Hikers set out upon the Trail every year. (A Thru-Hiker is one who walks the trail from beginning to end, Georgia to Maine or vice-versa.) The average hiker takes five months to walk the distance, and his journey leaves him a different person by the time he reaches the end. It is an experience that few ever have, and those who complete it would never trade. There is much information on the AT available on the internet these days. When I have the chance, I will add my own words to that list here. Until then, I invite you to follow the Links below to obtain more information on the Appalachian Mountain Trail. |
